as i say many times, I love simple picture.. this one for me is absolutely perfect: graphic composition and work on light.. very nice tones too..bravo
Jarrett Gorin  Thanks flo. It is always refreshing to know that there are photographers out there who can appreciate something this minimal. It certainly is not everybpdy's "cup of tea" ;)

Jarrett Gorin  Thank You Anne.

I suspected that this image would not be published, particularly after it ended up in Member's Screening and I got comments like "not enough" etc.

I really like ONEXPOSURE, but lately, it seems that most of the accepted images are of the same "feel": dark, black & white, and moody. Of course most of them are excellent too in one way or another.

However, I like simple compositions wich feature graphic elements like tonality, hue, lines, and shapes. Many photographers seem to look first at technique (i.e. how "photographic" is it and is it technically perfect) and then second at composition etc. For me, the camera equipment is just another tool that you can use to create artwork, and I don't think its use should be confined to the creation of images that are obviously "photographs". Many of my favorite images by other photographers could have also been created by painters or sketch artists. They are excellent because of their composition and other artistic qualities. The fact that they were created with a camera is nearly irrelevant.

So I am thrilled that the ONEXPOSURE community selected this image for publication..........and that you enjoyed it!
Anne Lene Baanrud  I had to give a reply on this Jarret. For i share the same thoughts, for me to it is irrelevant how a picture is made wheter by brush or camera as long as the message comes across. A picture may not be technically perfect, but it is the emotions that it stirs that is important, one has only too look at the great masters.

And i really enjoyed this crisp and clean shot!
All the best Anne Lene
