Really wonderful shot. The flake really does add something different to it. You had good luck with that!

For a total nugget like me, I would love to know (in general) what you did in post to give the image the fascinating light it has. I love the look.

Emily Bem I achieved this look mainly using a dodge/burn brush. The bg did have some snow definition, but I dodged it out because it was not enough to keep around without it becoming a distraction. You are right about my luck...I just loved that snow flake :) Thanks so much! :)

But to me the snowflake on the eye is distracting, is it postprocessing (the snowflake?)

I already wrote it in the member screening, that in my perception the snow flake adds something to the image, while it might be disturbing at first glance. I like it a lot!

This is a beautiful shot! Not only are you rocking those people portraits but now the animal photographs! But I also have to agree with Marylee, the snowflake covering his eye does bother me a little tiny bit.

I may stand alone on this, But I'd prefer the snowflake not to cover the eye...but LOVE the snowflakes and the shot! Gorgeous dog!

Emily Bem You are not the only one.....I had at least 6 comments on the picture while it was being screened with people saying the same thing. To me it was just one of those flukey things that added interest...for me. Thanks so much, lady! :)

I commented in screening that I really want to see that other eye... Somehow it adds this tension to the image that makes it SO much more then just a snap of a dog. Well done!
