Poseur
This title comes with all due respect, of course, but it is also quite literal: this man was standing outside a public garden in Baguio--along with a small crowd of others--waiting to have his photo taken. As you walk in, inevitably with your camera in plain view, they approach you rather like the food sellers on the street, urging you in almost pleading tones to take a shot. It was definitely strange, but I ended up taking a couple anyway because I think the guy looks pretty cool, quasi-genuine Ifugao costume and all. Besides, this is how they make money, and for 20 pisos, it's really quite ridiculous to refuse.

The sweater he's wearing doesn't fit the scenery. Thanks for the story told alongside! Still an interesting and worthwile documentary shot.

Nathan Jandl  I think the sweater is part of what makes him a "poseur"...but in all honesty, I wish it had been a little more authentic too.
