I think that what gives your work its power is the uncomfortable, even painful, sense of beauty and horror in a single image. The emotional conflict that this evokes in the viewer makes the picture compelling and evocative. That is what makes work like yours so much more than mere technical accomplishment. This is art. Like Mr. Gomes, I cannot stop looking at it.
