A great landscape shot and a good photo work - from outside my birthplace town ;o) Lars
Marius Olsen  Hi Lars! Where are you from, or, Hvor kommer du fra?
Tør jeg tippe Stjørdal? =)
Norge ruler, intet tvil. ;)
Lars Biørn-Hansen  Hi Marius. I lived in Trondheim until I was 5 years old (long time ago). Now I live at Auli, Akershus, but I was a lot in Bymarka in my youth :o)
Marius Olsen  Trondheim is the place to be, why in hell did you move :P
This photo is from Tiller, about 1km from the shoppingmall "City Cyd" !

I haven't been to Bymarka with my camera yet, but I will! An early wintermorning in magic light, fog and me... Looking forward to it!

Marius Olsen  Thanks Allan! It's a lot of fun for a 16 years old boy to hear that ;)

Absolutley amazing! Feels like a fairytale.
Best regards ~*Carola*~
Marius Olsen  Thank you Carola. About the fairytale, it's about the same as what I think.
When I see this I think of Star Wars, and the fight they had on "EARTH" with some small cute teddybears, it's too good to be true, like a fairytale og sci-fi movie ;)

Breathtaking....
Marius Olsen  Thanks Emily! Few words can tell so much ;)

Yes, my englis is crappy... but I'm 16 years old and from Norway, what can you expect? =)
Emily Bem  Don't you dare apologize! You know much more about a second language than I do....ya' did great!
Marius Olsen  Hehe, thanks!

Marlus...gorgeous!!! Only concern is the amount of editing you have done. Not sure, but does that require you to place in creative edit vs Landscape???? I think nature & landscape categories have limits on digital editing. I love it none-the-less
Marius Olsen  Hi Brian! My english is not the greatest here, but I'll try to explain(?).

I took 9 exposures, and none of them showed me anything great. So I was suprised when this picture popped up in photomatix. I'm not a huge fan of over-editing pictures when it comes to landscape, but some of them is better in HDR, but I think your are right, landscape should have some sort of limits, but I don't link this picture straight to landscape. Landscape is for me a "review" of reality, and this is not reality, the dynamic range is way past what i saw, and theirfore I get more of a sci-fi feeling, but that's not a category here, theirfore "Landscape"

But when we are talking about the amount of editing, this is ONLY an HDR-picture, with a "paintet sun", it's not a job that tok alot of my time, but I do know what you mean, it looks over-edited.

Marius Olsen
Brian James  I love it no matter how you came up with it...in my favorites!
Marius Olsen  Thanks!

Sorry..I didn't mean Weeds, I meant "trees".. But your right..Looks like THE place to be!
Marius Olsen  It's ok, I got it anyway. Sometimes it a magic place, and if you're lucky you get a shot of it, and wow! =)

Amazing shot, really has everything, very well done!
Marius Olsen  Thank you Tim, I've got great feedback from other Norwegian photosites also, I think I will work hard to get anything that's better than this. It's a photo I'm proud of, of course =)

Wow! Outstanding sky and love the fog and weeds in the FG!
Marius Olsen  Thank you Marylee, Norway is the place to be you now ;)
Patrick Moser 4 years ago
How the hell did you get all those pieces together?! :D

A wonderful shot!

How did you get control of the sun like that?
Marius Olsen  Hi Patrick!
I've used the program Photomatix to generate a HDR image, and then I've used Photoshop to adjust light and colors. To create the sun (After being in Photomatix) I had to use a second layer, and "Clone stamp" to get some details. That made it almost sci-fi, and it is not suppose to look like something normal. I loved the Tonemapping, and the fog, and everything.
Patrick Moser  From reading your description I think it would be more appropriate to put it in the "creative editing" category. ;)

Still very nice end result!
Marius Olsen  You may have right Patrick, but I haven't cheated a lot. The fog is real, only the sun is Painted on from a much darker eksposure.

Thanks anyway!

WOW! Amazing landscape, love it a lot!
claude
Marius Olsen  Thanks Claude! Yes it's amazing, and the best of all, it takes me 5 minutes with my bike to get there, even though I live i Trondheim. This is almost the only place I have to tak pictures of "the wild" without 30 houses around me.
