About me

Better_World_Inc. was the title of a short story written by Jean-Marie Babonneau in Iceland in 2000. It was an irony piece about the delirious and humorous finding of a secret recipe for mass-producing top models by a genetic research company.

Born in France in 1971, JM Babonneau works under the pseudonyme Better_World_Inc. when working on art projects & visual performances. He also works on photographic assignments, like portraits for the press, album cover artwork for musicians, staged fashion for designers, corporate pictures for annual reports & architecture photographs.

He is a graduate of the Academy of Beaux-Arts in Nantes, France (BA, 1995), and the French National School of Photography in Arles (MA, 1999), a long-time apprentice of Lucien Clergue (photographer of Picasso & Cocteau, co-founder of the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles in 1969).

Jean-Marie has, since his childhood, enjoyed finding inspiration and new perspectives in other cultures (in Germany 1975-1980, Iceland 1999-2002, Denmark 2003-2009).

Relocated in Paris, France, in 2009, after a 10-year career debut in northern Europe, JM Babonneau works internationally on his assignments, art projects, exhibitions, installations & visual performances. He teaches as well in art schools during 1 to 6-week workshops. Forthcoming projects will include more video and photographic animations for art & promotional projects.
