I love photography because it is for me a perfect combination of left and right brain activity. Doing field work I am outside of time, the world stands still, I see with an intensity that I never normally deploy. I find beauty in my back yard and in great open places. In the darkroom (or lightroom in my case) I enjoy the technical challenge of bringing to the captured image what was in my minds eye. Shooting nature is my favourite, although I enjoy architecture and some street photography as well. Great colour turns me on. Sometimes out in nature a scene so sublime unfolds that I just dont try to capture it, I sit back and enjoy.
