To all 1x members:

It is with great pleasure that I announce Christoph Hessel as the new Head Moderator of the moderation team!!

Since Day 1 of Christoph's participation in the moderation team, he has consistently demonstrated a balanced and sensitive approach to dealing with moderation issues and the entire moderation team is wholly confident he has the "right stuff" to be Head Mod!!!

Christoph - we all wish you well in your new role and look forward to great things from you!

For those of you who may be wondering, I am not leaving moderation completely, however, time constraints have made it very difficult for me to continue to be as active at 1x as I once was. As I see it, a change can be rather re-invigorating and I look forward to participating in moderation under Christoph's leadership.

So, once again - please join me in welcoming and congratulating Christoph to his new role!!

I just want to say to Kevin that I am glad you will take the time you need for yourself. Before I congratulate Christoph I also have to add a few thoughts about knowing you in this role. 

Since coming to One X I have watched as I have seen you interact under all different circumstances with so many different kinds of personalities, and always it has been with respect, kindness and clarity. You treat people with dignity, and that has gone a long way to create harmony here. On a personal level, you have been supportive of the Sen Critics, and always offer great advice. I am glad to know you will see be around and I am glad to have met you here... Thank you for all of these things..

I am happy you are willing to take on this role as it is surely not an easy one, and especially with new little Anni. Your very dedicated Chris, and your hard work here has really shown in so many ways. I hope things will run smoothly, and of course please know I will support and help you in any way I can.

For me this makes a lot of sense. 
Kevin, I have not experienced you long as the head moderator, while I became part of the team, but I would like to thank you for your presence in the background and you being a "last resort" and mentor.
Christoph! This is very good news, indeed, and thank you for accepted this role. I've had the feeling that it is formalizing the current modus operandi.

You have been a constant in my perception of 1x from my very first days. Not only after having become a mod, but already in my days as member or SC I realised You as a man dealing with the most problematic and most emotional situations, in a constructive, kind, respectful and clear way.
Later, in moderation times, to know You at my (and our) side alway was a feeling of beeing shelter and never standing alone. You have coined 1x as few others, and this in the very best way. I am glad You will not leave, and so I am glad to know You at our side and to be able to ask for Your experience and advise. 

I am glad to know Robert, Barbara, Kim and Nic in this team. 

Thanks to all of You for Your kind whishes, as little Anni keeps us awake, there is some time in the deeper night to take care of all this here :-)

Thanks Kevin for your understanding & wisdom in the past.

Welcome Christophe to your new role which at first I am sure you will find difficult even a bit bizarre because how do you moderate a head! but once you grasp the simple fact that the only way to get ahead is to moderate a head then it will all be plain sailing & you will be ahead of the game.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for all the hours that you contributed over the past few years as Head Mod. I always found that you were considerate and just in the way that you managed the forums. Have a welcome break, though I know that 'normal' moderation won't allow you much freedom either. Andre
