Rui - why would one want a lense like this? It's almost impossible to get a f/1.4 sharp - with this it would be impossible, no??

Looks a nice lens.

Leica have had one out for a while (about £6,000 I think)

The results shot at wide open are stunning.

The boxer on this page springs to mind.......

You could photograph goats in the dark with that lens!
I know what you mean about f1.4 Kevin, I find I can't stand still enough to be sure I'm focused where i want to be. . . Bad technique I am sure. . .

It's an interesting lens in respect to light gathering capabilities, but I'm not impressed with its optics. The bokeh seems very harsh and the circles of confusion are rendered as "cat eyes" near the edges.

Kevin, best lense i have was a Carl Zeiss Pancolar 50mm/f1.4 . Unfortunely i sell it because i´m no more capable of focusing a manual lense in 35mm camera, my eyes are older. That Carl Zeiss is the most sharp lense i see, ever at f1.4 when you hit the target.

Shure i´m not ready to make good focus with this one in 35mm cameras, and this one is for APS-C sensors, so, aps-c cameras have little focusing screen :(

Cristi say everything, circles of confusion are not perfect at all. I hope see a review soon .

I remember in past Canon have a f0.95 lense, with thorium in glass, with FD bayonet, it´s the dream of all photogs like me at 20 years ago :)

Also Voightlander with "nocton" lenses and Leica with "noctilux" have the know "light eaters" lenses in past :)

Whoaa... Rui, you're MF lovers...
Don't know why i don't interest to buy AF lens...
Just completing Katzeye Focusing Splitscreen and KPS eyecup magnifying 1,35x , sometimes using Liveview features from camera...

Anyway.. Noktor is for Micro 4/3 ... uh.. oh... can't use that super fast lens, i don't have Micro 4/3 such as EP1,EP2

I just love my lens baby:-)

Thanks for the link!

Rui do you know what the photos from this would look like at that aperture? It just to me like a complete waste of space. 50mm 1,4 is truly remarkable, why anyone would want/need anything lower seems strange.
What is the lowest a camera can go to in terms of aperture?

Alex, at many many time ago in a very far away planet, photogs have no ISO at all, also there are no goats.

So, come companys develop some extreme light lenses, like f0.95 and f1.0 in order to take nice pictures in very low light.

My old Carl Zeiss Planar 50mm/f1.4 is very good in low light conditions, but have extreme quality glass. This Noktor, i have no ideia, but yes, maybe have a extreme bokeh and will be very dificult to fine focus with it.

About lowest a camera can go in termos of aperture, i don´t know, maybe a optical enginear can explain you :)

Sorry, my friend, at 35mm cameras i´m nomore a MF lenses lover, because my old eyes don´t help me to do right focus.

But in my Mamiya 6x7 system i use allways MF, the viewfinder looks like a cinema screen :)

I have sell sometime ago my Zeiss lenses and now i have a Canon 50mm f1.4 AF, that is horrible, a piece of crap glass compared with Zeiss.

Maybe one day Zeiss sell autofocus lenses, i hope :)
