My home is not that contemporary and my wife only allows me to hang my photographs in our bathrooms

It made me think about how many of your pictures are confined to the bathroom.

For me it is 7 and growing......

is it wise to hang photos in a bathroom ? the humidity and all that ?

anyway, I don't have anything on my walls, but I am actually planning to hang this one up in my toilet right in front of the toilet seat : http://1x.com/v2/#forum.php?action=viewtopicc&tid=6079

I quite happily had three very large Admiralty sea charts of my local coastline framed and hung in my dining room until the day I got married, whence they were immediately dispatched upstairs out of sight to be exchanged for 'proper decorations' to adorn the downstairs rooms......
However, my wife things my photographs of mountains are reasonably acceptable to be hung downstairs and so on show to visitors. Non, as yet are consigned to the bathroom, thankfully.... Mind, I could probably contemplate them better whilst sitting on the Throne.

My pics are all over my house... my fiance rocks. Now if you're asking how many were TAKEN in my bathroom, well, the first 3 years of studio shooting were all done there.

Believe it or not, I've never even printed one of my photographs, never mind framed and hung one on a wall! It has still been less than a year I've been at this hobby, but I'm embarrassed to say that I'm behind the curve on printing. When I do print, though, I can imagine that relatively few images would work with the style of my home. My wife, on the other hand, pesters me (among other things) to get some photos printed and hung so I guess we have a role-reversal here.

He he he - it's was fun :)))

In my bathroom there is no place to hang photos...
If I'm in bath I'm closing my eyes... just relax and I see many things...
If I hanged something on the wall so it's not for me - it's for others.

The home is the maternal province. She's acting on instinct. Go with the flow.

But it's hard to understand that there is nothing in your work she likes? Perhaps you could ask her to meditate and envision. Then go out and try to produce that vision in a print.

Maybe go through some art books with her? Let her pick some favorites. I get far more comments from women on my more artistic work.

Or maybe she could take a short course in photography to better appreciate it?

There must be a plug-in somewhere that will excite her! (no pun intended) *smile*

Same with me, but only one. And it disappeared some way.. But, a few months ago she decided she wanted a 1x1.5m canvas with one of my northern light shots there.
Still none in the bathroom. I've not thought about it before. I'll hang a canvas in the shower for testing!
