HI !
I'm waiting for the Sigma 17-70 mm 2.8 OS to come out in Canada and was wondering if any of you have used it yet ? I know it is available in the U.S.
I don't have a normal walk about zoom yet and I'm tempted by either this one or the Tamron 17-50 mm f/2.4-4. (I have the d300s)

If I summarize all the reviews I've read, I'm leaning towards the Tamron but the new OS factor of the Sigma teases me...

Any thoughts ?

Hi,
I can not bring any clearence on this Sigma, as I dont know it. But I can tell you that I'd wish to have together my 17-35 F2.8 and my 24-70 F2.8 with the same clarity they have independently...:)
good luck!

It is a 17-70 2.8-4. A 17-70 2.8 constant would be a great improvement. Any case f4 with OS at 70mm in this kind of lens is a great improvement.

Let's wait previews.

Oh ! Oups ! Thx for the correction Miguel ! I know I must wait but since I only have an 85 prime and a very wide angle, I'm a bit impatient ! ;]

But do you make any photos, because first of all a picture is made by your brain and after is coming the tool!!!

Of course it doesn't stop me at all. I just want another lens. I didn't say I couldn't shoot without it. This has nothing to do with the overly discussed subject of the Gear Vs the Eye. Strictly material, technical acquisition.

Sigma has mechanical problems with the auto-focus,but the glass is outstanding!!
