Over a coffee I can tell you a few stories like that! & yes he was feet on the ground no nonsense a practitioner with talent & balls but look at who he had access to simply by going out & doing it. Listening over the past 4-5 years to all the old pros that give off a whole heap of crap about their skills & to how protective they are of what they got is put into perspective listening him talk & he told it as it was. He made it up as he went along. I think David Puttenham summed it up that he could never have survived the film industry because its so full of luvvies! Well done for bringing this to our attention.

Great seeing him and Bailey like an old double act ;-) What a character! I can see how he would have been 'difficult' though. I caught it on TV late Thursday night.
