Aristotle's "Poetics"
Posted 2 years ago
Being impressed (though more in the past than now) with Umberto's Eco book (as well as the Jean-Jacques' Annaud film) "The Name of the Rose" (where the poisonous book was "the second book of Poetics") alongside with a possible importance of "the first book of Poetics" in art has led me to think that one may try to transcribe the Aristotle's six elements of tragedy to photography (the six elements of tragedy in order of importance are: plot (mythos), character (ethos), thought (dianoia), diction (lexis), melody (melos), and spectacle (opsis)).

May I ask what do you think about the idea (at the moment I am inspired to do something along these lines)? Thanks.

Sounds like a good project! All that matters is how to create a body of work that creatively interprets those elements. Best of luck.

Interesting indeed.
Could work well within a serie, I mean it could be an easier first approach. One thing that I think challenging in the first place is to put the elements in a way that they are well connected each other. Depends on the genre of course (purely conceptual, staged set-up or why not street/everyday etc...).
Good Luck.

Sounds really interesting! I hope you will tell us about how the project proceeds?
Best of luck!
