Windows Vista / CS3

Got a problem with Photoshop yesterday. Crashed all the time.
The reason was an update of Vista that installed yesterday morning. New computer, and I hadn't looked through the settings yet. From now it's going to ask before updating.
Just wanted to inform if somebody else get the same experience

Sorry as i do not use Windows i cannot help much. But i know one thing always will work:

For MAC it call "time machine" and as i know windows has a similar thing you can set back your system to an point before you install this update!

No problem, it's solved in my case. Just wanted to post it in case others got the same problem with the last update. I reset the system to the settings I had before, I think the function is the same as Mac's time machine.

I just asked a friend and he says that some updates are system overlapping and Adobe PS configure the system as the requirements for use of main cpu and graphic cpu. Sometimes its necessary to install PS new and it will work. Sometimes also they create bugs that illegal software will not work after a update:-) The same like MAC:-)

Absolutely a good idea!

I had an update problem before switching to a Mac ,and I had to have the entire system reformatted. Not every update can be removed by system restore.. I still have that Dell machine, and I have it set to download but do not install. This way I can check what the updates are and decide.

Do you recall what the update was? I mean the number/name so I can be on the lookout for it?
Thanks,
Phyllis

I've tried Win7 together with CS4, both 64Bit versions for the last couple of weeks. Works like a charm, have had no real trouble with them. The only app I have had trouble with is the RIP software I use, ImagePrint - v7. I think that will be solved, but since I can run applications in XP-mode I see no problem with it really. You have XP-mode in the Professional and Ultimate versions of Win7. Changing to Win 7 on all PC:s at home now...

I have bought the pro 64bit version, so I guess I'll just install it during the week-end. My CS is not 64 version, but I guess it works ok as I tried even the Elements on a XP 64 at work. Thank you Thomas!

If you use Nik plugins, they won't work in 64bit Photoshop. I was told earlier this week by a contact at Nik that they were working on 64bit versions, but she would not commit to a timeline only that they were for sure coming.

I have to use 32bit PS for Nik in my Win7 64bit install, sad for now, but true!

All of my other programs and plugin's worked fine.
