I studied photography in college, had my own darkroom, printing both black and white and color images. I used both 35mm and medium format cameras.Unfortunately, my career as a school administrator began to require 10-15 hour days.

For 30 years my cameras and equipment remained in a closet. In 2006, after retirement, I got a Nikon D100 and revived my interest in photography. I am working on gaining back the skills I once had. I believe the high standards of this site will provide the assistance and motivation that this old lady needs to become a photographer again.

I use Photoshop CS3 a lot because it allows me to get effects that, in the darkroom, took multiple enlargers and all sorts of gimmicks. I have always believed that images are created as much in the darkroom as in the camera, but I also believe that unless the image is digital art, editing should be invisible.

I know that at my age, I will never be a great photographer. Sometimes, in my dreams, I remember that Imogen Cunningham was not a star until her late eighties, but I don't have a background of learning with the f64 crowd as she did. Thanks for helping me be, at least, a growing photographer.
