Hi, I am Apurva Madia, live in Ahmedabad, India. I have been keen on photography since I was 10, wanting to record scenes and events that I used to be fascinated about. I used to ogle at photographers of that time sporting bulky Rollei TLRs. My wish was granted when I was gifted a box camera Agfa Click III. With this I used to click away mostly on Agfa 120 black and white film. Soon after I inherited a Voigtlander Prominent range finder from my dad.

I did mostly black and white then and processed the films on my own. But then I joined Medicine and became a doctor and photography was on the back burner. I graduated and when I could afford got myself a Canon SLR. In those days Canon had meager support in my country and getting lenses and other accessories was difficult.

In 2004 I acquired a Nikon F75 with a 70-300 tele zoom. Winds were changing and the digital revolution was picking up. Finally in 2007 I converted to digital with a Nikon D40x with 18-200 Nikkor.

Apart from candid portraits, my calling is nature, abstracts and some wildlife. I seem to like taking pictures of usual day to day mundane objects in my home and surroundings in a novel and unusual angles.

I feel photography by its nature is an art that is capable of capturing some captivating but fleeting moments presented by ones surroundings, and a photographer who excels at this is one who is going to get the maximum attention.

In a photo I like a strong form, balanced composition and vibrant colors or excellent gradation.
