I started shooting full time 10 years ago, after a 5 year hobby got the better of me. Im self taught, from day one, and ive intentionally avoided assisting or studying photography, so i can develop my own eye and my own taste, and so i can keep my head clear of technical data and jargon which i probably wont ever use, which [to me] all get in the way of a great picture.

Consequently, i keep things very simple, mostly using one light (or daylight), and never using any special tricks, just concentrating on capturing moods and moments as i see them and feel them. Ideally i try to take pictures that even i couldnt take again if i had to, so planning plays very little part in my shooting, and i generally just turn up and 'see what happens'......only ever preconcieving the quality of the picture i want, rather than any parts of the picture itself.

I love how simple and relaxing photography can be if you let it be just that.............to me its purely observation......thats all.......throw in a few suggestions for poses and clothes (or not) and make-up, and if you like all the things you see, then generally you have a great picture at the end of your lens. if you dont like any of the ingredients, change them till you do.

Ive disovered the less i tried to be a photograher, the better my pictures became.......and that suits me just fine.
